￼DINO CLASSIC TRACK MEET The third and final competition in the “2019 Calgary Indoor Track Series”, took place on January 27th. Eight Passtrak athletes took part in 22 events. They produced 11 life time best performances, set 4 new Passtrak club records and brought home 3 first and 6 third place finishes for their efforts. Ella Peebles had 3 events in the 9 & under girls age group. She finished 6th in the 150 metres in 31.30 seconds which tied her best ever time. She placed 5th in the 60 metres in 11.98 seconds then completed the 600 metres in 2:56.95 for 4th place and a new Passtrak club record. Eve Winter had 3 events in the 11 year old girls group. She placed 6th in the 600 metres in 2:30.10 and 6th in the 150 metres in 25.99 seconds. She also ran the fastest 60 metres of her life in 9.97 seconds to finish 3rd. Cohen Musschoot was crowned Passtrak’s athlete of the meet. He improved in all 3 of his events in the 11 year old boys division. He ran a personal best of 9.22 seconds in the 60 metres for first place then improved his 150 metre time to 22.88 seconds for another first place finish. That was also a new Passtrak club record for his age. He finished the day with his fastest ever 600 metre time of 2:03.08 for third place. Summer Musschoot placed 9th in the 13 year old girls 60 metres in 9.46 seconds. She had a 10th place result in the 150 metres in 24.21 seconds. Holly Forsyth ran the same 2 events in the 13 year old girls category. Her 10.31 seconds in the 60 metres was her fastest ever for 11th place. She also produced the fastest 150 metres of her life by running 25.65 seconds for 12th spot. Clara Websdale improved in 2 of her 3 events in the 13 year old girls races. She finished 13th in the 150 metres in 26.26 seconds and 6th in the 600 metres where she clocked 2:12.64. She also ran the 60 metres where she placed 12th in 10.35 seconds. Jack Bailey competed in the 14 year old boys events. He placed 3rd in the 60 metres in 9.52 seconds and 1st in the 300 metres in 51.82 seconds. He then produced a 12.03 second time in the 60 metre hurdles which was a personal best for 3rd place. Ryan Peebles placed 4th in the Masters Men’s, (35 - 39), 60 metres in 8.54 seconds. He also took 3rd place in the 300 metres in a new Passtrak record time and life time best of 46.48 seconds. Clara, Eve, Holly and Summer then teamed up and placed 3rd in the 13 year old girls 4 x 200 metre relay. They broke the Passtrak club record for the second time this season by clocking 2:19.72.

￼2018 ALBERTA TRACK & FIELD RANKINGS Athletics Alberta is the governing body for the sport of track & field in Alberta. They have recently released the provincial rankings from the 2018 season. Passtrak athletes have hit the charts in a big way. In total the local track & field club had 16 athletes make the top 10 list provincially in 46 separate events. The break down is as follows: - 3 number 10 rankings. - 8 number 9 rankings - 3 number 8 rankings - 5 number 7 rankings - 5 number 6 rankings - 2 number 5 rankings - 3 number 4 rankings - 5 number 3 rankings - 5 number 2 rankings - 7 number 1 rankings For 10 year old girls Harley Uphill is ranked #10 in ball throw & #8 in discus. For 10 year old boys Cohen Musschoot is ranked #10 in the 150 metres, #8 in shot put, #7 in high jump, #7 in standing long jump, #6 in the 600 metres, #3 in discus & #1 in long jump. For 11 year old boys Zack Uphill is ranked #9 in discus, #9 in shot put & #1 in ball throw. For 11 year old boys Keenan Parsons is ranked #9 in the 60 metres, #9 in the 600 metres, #7 in the high jump & #1 in the javelin. For 12 year old girls Summer Musschoot is ranked #9 in the 1200 metres & #6 in shot put. For 12 year old girls Clara Websdale is ranked #6 in javelin. For 12 year old girls Avaya Ellis is ranked #1 in high jump. For 12 year old boys Sawyer Sawatzky is ranked #9 in high jump, #9 in long jump, #8 in discus, #7 in shot put, #4 in 80 metre hurdles, & #3 in javelin. For 13 year old boys Jack Bailey is ranked #6 in 80 metre hurdles & #3 in javelin. For 14 year old girls MacKenzie Mayea is ranked #5 in 200 metre hurdles. ￼For 14 year old girls Libbey Wilmot is ranked #9 in 200 metre hurdles & #3 in pentathlon. For 14 year old girls Payton Bauer is ranked #10 in triple jump, #7 in 200 metre hurdles, #5 in high jump & #4 in pentathlon. For 15 year old girls Paige Richards is ranked #6 in long jump & #1 in 80 metre hurdles. For 16 year old boys Mathias Gelber is ranked #2 in the 3000 metres, #1 in the 1500 metres & #1 in the 800 metres. In the Masters Women’s 35 - 39 age group Sue-Anne Uphill is ranked #2 in the 100 metres, #2 in the long jump & #2 in the shot put. In the Masters Men’s 35 - 39 age group Craig Hay is ranked #4 in the 100 metres, #3 in discus & #2 in shot put.

￼JACK SIMPSON OPEN TRACK MEET Passtrak rang in the new year with a track meet at the University of Calgary on Sunday January 6th. The club had 18 athletes compete in 51 events. Together they produced 18 new life time best performances and set 6 new Passtrak club records. They also picked up 18 top 3 placings with 3 firsts, 7 seconds and 8 thirds. Three of the athletes competed in their first official indoor track meet in a Passtrak uniform. Cammy Hay had 2 events in the under 10 girls age group. She placed 3rd in the 60 metres in 11.68 seconds and 3rd in the 150 metres in 31.22 seconds. Cohen Folkard had 3 events in the 10 year old boys category. He placed 4th in the 60 metres in 12.05 seconds, 4th in the 150 metres in 30.75 seconds and 3rd in the 400 metres in 1:39.19. Levi Neudorf had 3 events in the 12 year old boys division. He placed 8th in the 60 metres in 10.13 seconds, 8th in the 150 metres in 25.59 seconds and 4th in the 1200 metres in 5:35.16. Elliott Ames was in his second competition of the season and he had 3 events in the under 10 boys group. He placed 4th in the 60 metres in 12.18 seconds, 5th in the 150 metres in 32.82 seconds and 3rd in the 400 metres in 1:53.70. Archer Ames had 3 events in the 11 year old boys category. He placed 10th in the 60 metres in 11.91 seconds and 7th in the 400 metres in 1:44.19. He then ran the fastest 150 metre race of his life finishing 9th in 31.59 seconds. Cohen Musschoot had 1 life time best performance in the 11 year old boys group as well. He placed second in the 60 metres in 9.28 seconds. He then ran the 150 metres in 23.37 seconds for 3rd and the 400 metres in 1:14.79 for 4th. Karin Bailey was in the 12 year old girls events. She ran her fastest 150 metre race ever in 28.83 seconds for 10th and then placed 10th in the 60 metres in 11.09 seconds and 5th in the 400 metres in 1:35.21. Holly Forsyth was in the 13 year old girls events. She ran a personal best of 10.61 seconds in the 60 metres for 10th. She also finished 10th in the 150 metres in 26.50 seconds and 5th in the 400 metres in 1:22.96. Jack Bailey was Passtrak’s busiest athlete with 4 events in the 14 year old boys division. He placed 5th in the 150 metres in 25.96 seconds which set a new Passtrak club record for his age group. He then placed 3rd in the 60 metres in 9.81 seconds and 3rd in the 60 metre hurdles in 12.04 seconds. His final event was the 400 metres where he whacked a huge 12 seconds off his previous best by finishing in 1:15.28 for a first place result. Ella Peebles competed in the under 10 girls category. She took 4th place in the 60 metres in 12.00 seconds then ran the fastest 150 metres of her life in 31.30 seconds for 4th. She finished the day by setting a new Passtrak club record in the 400 metres by finishing in 1:51.72 for second place. Summer Musschoot produced 2 personal best results in her 3 events in the 13 year old girls age group. Her 9.43 second time in the 60 metres was her best ever for 6th place and 1:16.57 in the 400 ￼metres was her fastest ever for 4th place. She also had a 8th place finish in the 150 metres in 23.93 seconds. Eve Winter was in the 11 year old girls group where she had improved in 2 out of 3 events as well. Her 60 metres was her best ever in 10.10 seconds for 2nd and 150 metre time of 25.44 seconds was her best ever also for second place. Her 3rd event was the 400 metres where she placed second once again in 1:34.52. Craig Hay and Ryan Peebles had 2 events each in the Masters Men’s age group which includes athletes in the 35 - 39 year old age group. Craig ran his fastest 60 metres ever in 8.61 second which also set a new Passtrak club record. Ryan also ran a life time best in the same event in 8.46 seconds, also breaking the previous club record. Craig's second event was the 1500 metres. He completed the race in 6:34.07 for second place and a new Passtrak club record for his age group. Ryan’s second event was the 300 metres. He placed first setting a new club record of 46.56 seconds. Carson Hay represented the club in the 10 year old boys division. He had a banner day improving in all 3 events he contested. His 60 metre time improved to 12.41 seconds for 5th place, his 150 metre time improved to 32.68 seconds for 5th place and his 400 metre time improved to 1:40.78 for 4th place. Sawyer Sawatzky did the same in the 13 year old boys events, improving his times in all 3 races. His 60 metre improved to 9.98 seconds for 5th, his 150 metre time improved to 25.18 seconds for 7th then he carved a whopping 13 seconds off his 400 metre time to finish in 1:24.03 for 4th place. Ethan Richards ran in the Open men’s sprints. He placed 13th in the 60 metres in 7.66 seconds and then finished the 300 metres in 40.57 seconds for 16th place. Paige Richards ran the 60 metres in the 16 & 17 year old girls age group and clocked 8.72 seconds for 14th. Passtrak also fielded 2 relay teams which produced excellent results. Holly, Eve, Karin & Summer combined to run the 4 x 200 metre relay. They took second place by finishing in 2:34.20. Passtrak’s 10 & 11 year old boys, Carson, Cohen F., Archer & Cohen M. did themselves one better and placed first in their 4 x 200 metre relay in 2:52.75.
