Dino Classic Track Meet Results

DINO CLASSIC TRACK MEET The Dino Classic was hosted by the University of Calgary on January 28th. Passtrak was well represented by 14 athletes who participated in 36 events during the one day competition. They produced 11 life time best performances, set 3 new Passtrak club records and earned 1 second and 4 third place finishes. Finley Wilmot and Carson Hay competed in the 10 and younger boys age group. Finley ran the 60 metres in 13.39 seconds for 25th place. Carson had 3 events. His 60 metre time was 13.02 seconds for 23rd place. He then ran the 150 metres in 33.83 seconds to finish in 17th. His final event was the 1000m. He crushed his previous best time by running 4:40.51 for 5th place. That was a 18 second personal improvement and it also broke the previous club record for his age group by 27 seconds. Devon MacGregor represented the club in the 11 year old girls events. She ran the fastest 60 metres of her life in 10.35 seconds for 6th place then completed the 150 metres in 26.11 seconds also for 6th place. Her final event was the 600 metres where her time of 2:16.58 earned her a 3rd place finish. Passtrak had 4 girls in the 12 year old division. Clara Websdale ran the 60 metres in 11.14 seconds for 16th and ran the 150 metres in 29.15 seconds for 18th. Her 3rd event was her best. She clipped 4 seconds off her previous best by clocking 2:31.59 in 6th place. Summer Musschoot ran her fastest 60 metres ever in 9.58 seconds for 4th place. Her 150 metre time was also a personal best of 23.96 seconds for 6th place. Her 3rd event was the 1000m where she finished in 3rd spot in 3:58.99. Avaya Ellis duplicated Summer’s efforts. She ran a life time best of 9.78 seconds in the 60 metres for 7th then another life time best in the 150 metres for 7th place in 24.25 seconds. She finished the day in 5th place in the 1000 metres in a time of 4:09.64. Hayley Whidden ran the 60 metre and 150 metre races as well. She finished the 60 metres in 14th in 10.67 seconds and in 17th in the 150 metres by timing 27.91 seconds. These 4 girls then teamed up for the 4 x 200 metre relay where they placed 4th and carved 8 seconds from the previous Passtrak club record by finishing the race in 2:26.50. Sawyer Sawatzky and Edison Wilmot were in the 12 year old boys age group. In the 60 metres Edison finished 9th in 11.48 seconds and Sawyer was 5th in 10.27 seconds. In the 150 metres Edison ran 29.44 seconds for 7th while Sawyer clocked 25.98 for 4th. The 3rd event was the 1000m where Edison earned a 3rd place finish in 5:24.75 and Sawyer grabbed second place in 4:27.31. Jack Bailey was Passtrak’s only 13 year old boy. His 60 metre time was 10.38 seconds for 15th. His 150 metre time was 26.83 seconds for 5th. In his 600 metres he chopped a whopping 18 seconds off his previous best time by finishing in 3rd place in 2:15.28. Two 14 year old girls were on Passtrak’s list for this meet. Payton Bauer ran a personal best of 9.22 seconds in the 60 metres for 8th place. She then ran the 300 metres for the first time ever, finishing 10th in 54.41 seconds. Libbey Wilmot also ran a life time best in the 60 metres. She recorded 9.56 seconds for 10th. Next she ran the 60 metre hurdles for the first time ever in 12.07 seconds for 5th place. Carter Whidden ran 2 events in the 14 year old boys division. His 60 metre time was 9.04 seconds for 7th and his 300 metre time of 49.84 seconds placed him 5th. Craig Hay ran 1 event in the Masters 35 - 39 age group. He ran the fastest 60 metres of his life in 8.79 seconds which set a new Passtrak club record for his age group and placed him 6th in the event. Jack, Edison, Carson and Sawyer teamed up to run the 4 x 200 metre relay in The bantam boys event. They placed 5th in 2:34.51.

Golden Bear Track Meet

GOLDEN BEAR OPEN TRACK MEET This track meet was held at the University of Alberta in Edmonton on January 20th & 21st. Two Passtrak athletes attended the meet and competed in 8 events. Payton Bauer was the busiest, with 5 events in the Midget girls, ( 14 & 15 year old), age group. Her first event was the 60m sprint which is the only event she had participated in previously. She performed very well, running her fastest time ever by recording a 9.36 second result for 27th place. Her next 4 events were all brand new for her. She ran the 60m hurdles in 12.56 seconds to finish 11th then ran the 200m in 32.49 seconds for 24th place. Her 2 jumping events were the high jump where she cleared 1.30 metres for 9th place and in her long jump she spanned 3.60 metres for 22nd. Paige Richards also competed in the Midget girls category. She is a much more experienced athlete and she contested 3 events where she produced life time best results in each one. She earned a 5th place finish in the long jump by measuring 4.38 metres. This improved her previous best by over 1/2 a metre. She also ran the fastest 60 metre race of her life finishing 14th in 8.68 seconds. Her third event was the 60 metre hurdles where she placed first in a best ever time of 10.09 seconds.

Jack Simpson Open

JACK SIMPSON OPEN TRACK MEET The Jack Simpson Open Track Meet took place at the University of Calgary on January 7th. Fifteen Passtrak athletes took part in 37 events and produced 10 life time best performances, set 6 new Passtrak club records and brought home 1 first place, 2 second place and 5 third place finishes. Finley Wilmot and Carson Hay ran neck and neck in the Tyke, (10 & under), boys races. In the 60m race they placed 14th & 15th with times of 13.16 and 13.52 seconds respectively. In the 150m they reversed the order of finish with Carson 14th & Finley 15th in 34.62 & 34.84 seconds. Their final race was the 400m. Carson placed 15th in 1:49.95 with Finley 14th with a new Passtrak club record of 1:47.88. Devon MacGregor was Passtrak’s only entry in the 11 year old girls category. She ran the fastest 60m of her life in 10.49 seconds for 6th place. Then she ran the fastest 150m of her life in 26.06 seconds for 4th place. She then took on the 400m for the first time and recorded a 1:21.81 for 3rd place. There were 7 Passtrak athletes in the 12 year old age group. In the girls events Summer Musschoot placed 10th in the 60m in 10.08 seconds, Clara Websdale placed 18th in 11.40 seconds, Avaya Ellis placed 9th in 10.04 seconds and Abigail Talbot finished 17th in 11.11 seconds which is a life time best performance for her. The next race was the 150m where Summer ran her fastest time ever in 24.50 seconds for 6th place. Avaya also ran her fastest time ever in 24.56 seconds for 7th and Abigail also ran a life time best in 28.55 seconds for 17th. In the 400m race Summer placed 4th in 1:19.80 while Avaya took 6th in 1:20.54. Hayley Whidden ran her first race ever as a Passtrak athlete and placed 9th in the 400m in 1:28.77. Abigail finished off her day with a 10th place result in the 400m in 1:40.88. Clara Websdale chose the 1200m for her final event which she completed in 5:36.33 for 5th place and a new Passtrak club record for her age group. Passtrak’s last 2 twelve year old athletes were Edison Wilmot and Sawyer Sawatzky who contested the boys events. Edison only had 1 race where he placed 9th in the 60m in 11.66 seconds. Sawyer ran the 60m in 10.41 seconds for 6th, then the 150m in 26.55 seconds for 5th. His final event was the 1200m which he completed in 5:51.46 for 5th place. Jack Bailey was Passtrak’s lone 13 year old entry. His 60m time was 10.54 seconds for second place, his 150m time was 27.96 seconds for third place and he finished his 400m in 1:27.61 for another second place result. Libbey Wilmot ran in the 14 year old girls division. She ran the fastest 60m of her life in 9.78 seconds for 13th and the fastest 150m of her life in 24.14 seconds for 12th. She then ran the 1200m for the first time and finished 3rd with a new Passtrak club record of 4:46.28. Carter Whidden ran in his first official track and field meet in Calgary. He ran the 14 year old boys 60m race in 8.99 seconds for 7th place. Paige Richards took 7th place in the 15 year old girls 60m in 8.93 seconds and then placed 5th in the 60m hurdles in 11.24 seconds. Craig Hay competed in the Master Men’s 35 - 39 year old category. He ran the fastest 60m of his life in 8.88 seconds for a 3rd place finish. Then ran his first ever 300m metre race where he placed first in 50.34 seconds which set a new Passtrak club record for his age group. The clubs final event of the day was the 4 x 200m relay. Avaya, Devon, Hayley and Clara teamed up to take 3rd place in the 12 & 13 year old girls race. They finished in 2:34.49 which set a new Passtrak club record for that age group.
